This is a picture of Martin and Aiddy leaving Picnic counter on Mount Adams. It really felt like we were on top of the world on this hike - and at 12,500 ft we were pretty high (high enough for altitude sickness - yuk!).
We are returning home here at the end of day two on the mountain, and a long but successful summit climb. We pretty knackered at this point but luckily we were able to slide a long way back on our backsides. Ice Axes required for braking!
I like this picture because it makes us look like real pros - in essence we didn't need any real skills (apart from self arrest with an ice axe), just a lot of hard work and determination. Looking back it was one of the most satisfying things I have accomplished.
