So, its Friday and the end of another Seattle week. It has rained every day, pretty much from dawn till dusk. I guess this is the way it will be now until the snow hits. I can't wait for the snow. One of the very nice things about living here is that you really get a seasonal calendar - winter, spring, summer and fall are all well represented.
I've had a colleague visiting from the UK visit which has been most refreshing, and we got a lot of planning for 2010 done and I got to show off the excellent local beer. I'm due back in the UK soon and so will be there from the 5th December for a week - staying with mes parents. I'm looking forward to it. If only I'd been more attentive to my air miles, I would be on free upgrades by now. Ho Hum.
Heather and I have been enjoying going to church - what ! really ? Yes, sad to say. This one is very pragmatic and is all about facing up to the realities of life - so no BS (well less), no living in the super spiritual cloud land and no politicking - its very refreshing. Plus the coffee is free.
This weekend we will finishing decorating the tree - its good to be ahead of the curve - and to do a bit more in preparation for Heather's parents arrival. They will be staying with us for a few weeks over Christmas and we are looking forward to having them. Ted/Aud - if you are reading this, that means we are looking forward to some free babysitting. Ha Ha. Just kidding (kind of) - roll on the turkey !
I'm soon to be officially on holiday and so need to go and plan in a killer hike.
So on that note - I'm out of here

While you're getting the snow, we're getting the nasty rain. But we also have nice local breweries.
Off on my own hike in a few weeks, will be going to Copenhagen, Norway and Brazil on a sailing boat this winter. So from one extreme weather condition to the other!
No church yet here, unless you call the christian-cafe-around-the-corner-where-I-get-drunk-in-the-holy-water church!
