So, its nearly Thanksgiving. A very big deal. Being only half American we have only half celebrated in years past (The English Years), but now we are in America …
We have plans to see our good English(?) friends who are hosting a big meal for their American(?) friends, and us. Its going to be lots of fun and food, mostly lots of food.
And drinking.
Typically after thanksgiving you can put the Christmas tree up, but in true style Heather and Emily could not wait, so we are now the proud owners of one very well lit Christmas tree in out living room. Its a bit early (for sure) but it looks great and makes the house feel very cozy.
Winter in America is great, especially where we are. You get Halloween which is a LOT of fun, especially if you like dressing up, sweets and being nosey in peoples houses – although it can be hard to crane your neck around a doorpost surreptitiously. Then Thanksgiving and then Christmas. It helps you beat the S.A.D. bought on by short days and the endless rain.
The winter weekends of course bring on the prospect of winter hiking. Planning a trip over the thanksgiving week and will post photos of beautiful snow covered trees and mountains, in the meantime …
