Word up friends,

Greetings from the Sexton's in Seattle. Christmas has just finished and we're hurtling headlong into 2008. Its over a year since we decided to move here and nearly a year since we actually did. This time last year we just put our house on the market. Yikes !

Anyways, we've been having a good time since the last post - Winter is definitely here with a mixture of cold weather, snow (don't get jealous), rain, and oh - the odd flood. We had a great snowy day a few weeks ago where Emily got to build her first snowman, followed by a huge amount of rain which led to a big old flood. Heather got stranded on the other side of the freeway with Emily and a friends daughter and had to be rescued! Alas, no helicopters this time, but our neighbour, the famous football player saved the day with his double buggy. I met up with them on the way back as we trekked along the railway line in true stand by me style.

Other high points for the end of last year was a big hike up Rock Mountain, 5 hours and 6000 feet to jaw dropping views of the cascade mountains. oh, and lots and lots of snow. Its winter now so most of the big hikes are off limits (avalanche dangers) but we are taking an easier trek up Mount Si next week.

As Heather is now 35 weeks pregnant, she'll be at home for this one. Its getting close and we are getting close to being kinda nearly starting to get ready. There seems to be much less urgency in the second one. Still, we have clothes a weeks worth of diapers (see what I did there?) so we should be OK. Emily is looking forward to being a big sister and regularly gives bump a kiss and a cuddle.
